I love fennel whether it is raw, baked or as a tea. The seeds are great as they carry such a strong flavour. I’ve been thinking about breadsticks a lot, who knows why, so I thought I would make some rustic looking ones with fennel seeds. A couple of friends who don’t normally like fennel did like these. Hurrah!
What you need:
100g wholemeal bread flour
10g fennel seeds
a couple of pinches of salt
What you need to do:
1: Preheat the oven to 175C.
2: Put all the ingredients in a bowl and work them together with your hands until you have a smooth dough.
3: Take balls of the dough and roll them into sticks on a floured board.
4: Bake the sticks for 25 to 30 minutes.
